It is generally not recommended to feed sparrows or any wild birds. Feeding them can disrupt their natural foraging behavior and may lead to an overreliance on human-provided food. Additionally, feeding birds can attract unwanted pests and predators to your yard. It is best to provide natural food sources such as bird-friendly plants and clean water sources to support the local bird population. **

Sparrows sleep by perching on branches or other elevated surfaces. They often tuck their heads under their wings and stand on one leg to conserve body heat while sleeping. This position also helps them stay alert to potential predators even while they are resting. **

Sparrows are typically incubated by the female sparrow. The female builds the nest and is responsible for sitting on the eggs to keep them warm until they hatch. The male sparrow may also help with incubation by bringing food to the female while she is on the nest. **

Yes, sparrows can rob swallow nests. Sparrows are known to be aggressive and territorial, and they may try to take over swallow nests for their own use. This can lead to conflicts between the two bird species, as swallows will defend their nests from sparrows. However, sparrows may still be successful in taking over swallow nests if they are persistent and outnumber the swallows. **
