When exposed to sunlight, heat, or certain chemicals, the plastic molecules can break down and react with oxygen in the air, causing the material to change color. This yellowing effect is more common in older plastics or those made with certain additives or stabilizers. Additionally, environmental factors such as pollution and cigarette smoke can also contribute to the yellowing of white plastic. **
