Quartz crystal and quartz glass are both made of the same mineral, silicon dioxide, but they have different properties and uses. Quartz crystal is a naturally occurring mineral that has piezoelectric properties, meaning it can generate an electric charge when mechanical stress is applied to it. This makes it useful in electronic devices such as watches and radios. Quartz glass, on the other hand, is a synthetic material made by melting pure quartz sand at high temperatures. It is transparent and has high thermal and chemical resistance, making it suitable for use in laboratory equipment, optical lenses, and high-temperature applications. **
