To cover a painted canvas with white, you can use white gesso, which is a primer specifically designed for preparing surfaces for painting. Apply a layer of white gesso over the painted canvas using a brush or a roller, making sure to cover the entire surface evenly. Allow the gesso to dry completely before applying additional layers if needed. Once the gesso is dry, you can paint over it with white acrylic or oil paint to achieve the desired result. **

Yes, it is recommended to prime a canvas with white gesso before painting on it. Priming the canvas with white gesso creates a smooth and even surface for the paint to adhere to, and it also prevents the paint from being absorbed into the canvas. This allows the colors to appear more vibrant and true to their original hue. Additionally, priming the canvas with white gesso helps to protect the canvas from deterioration over time. **

Large white spots when painting with acrylic on canvas can be caused by a few different factors. One common cause is the use of too much water or a thinning medium, which can dilute the paint and create uneven coverage. Another possible cause is the use of low-quality or old paint that has lost its opacity. Additionally, not properly priming the canvas or using a low-quality primer can also lead to white spots showing through the paint. It's important to use high-quality materials and to properly prepare the surface before painting to avoid these issues. **
